Originally released in 2015, ‘Something Inside So Strong’ celebrates Hugh’s love of soul music, and includes three brand new tracks – Lose Control, Can I Close The Door (On Love), and Lately.

Each song has been reimagined with Hugh’s signature musical arrangements. The album includes classics such as Bui Doi, Creep, and the title track Something Inside So Strong, alongside legendary Motown hits and contemporary covers from artists like Teddy Swims.

The full track list includes:

Something Inside So Strong; Let’s Get It On; Bring Him Home (Live); You’re the Voice; Kiss from a Rose; I Who Have Nothing; When a Man Loves a Woman; Get Here Creep; Back At One; Bui Doi (Live); Love Is On the Way; Lose Control; Can I Close The Door (On Love); Lately.

West End Star Hugh hails from Torbay, South Devon, and pursued his love of acting, singing and dancing with training at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) and Arts Educational Schools, Hugh has worked across the board in television, music and theatre.

While studying at Arts Ed, Hugh was chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s company to play the principal role of Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar. Since then, Hugh has continued to have a successful career in London’s West End with The Lion King, Notre Dame de Paris, Follies, Dancing in the Streets, and Sister Act.

2004 saw Hugh undertake the character of John in Miss Saigon for the first time and to date is the youngest person in the history of the production to have been given the privilege of playing this role.

As the fifth member of TENORS OF ROCK (TOR), Hugh enjoyed UK, European and American success. Having performed concerts around the world, Hugh was proud to perform with TOR as part of the 2012 World Olympic Games concert. Their debut single, Brothers In Arms, reached No.20 in the official UK rock chart holding Bon Jovi off the spot (for a whole week).

In 2014, Hugh joined the cast as John in the new West End production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Miss Saigon to critical acclaim. He stayed with the production for two years and sang on the cast recording.  In 2016 he appeared on the filmed DVD version of Miss Saigon celebrating its 25th anniversary.

As well as recently developing his own solo career and performing his own shows across the country, Hugh has focused on his TV presenting career. Hugh is thrilled to be releasing the Deluxe Edition of his 2015 debut studio album.

He said, “I’m absolutely delighted and truly excited to relaunch the deluxe version of my solo album ‘Something Inside So Strong’, which I believe will give immense pleasure to fans due to its unique musical arrangement and choice of legendary tracks. I want to thank Westway Music for their amazing support which has made releasing this album possible.”.
