SYDNIE CHRISTMAS RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘SPIRIT’ FROM NEW ALBUM ‘THE ARTIST’ TO BE RELEASED ON 2ND OCTOBER
Singer, songwriter, theatre-star and Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas has released her new single ‘Spirit’ through Westway Music, the latest track from her forthcoming second album The Artist. It’s a deeply personal song about reconnecting with the fearless version of yourself that existed before the world taught you to doubt.
‘Spirit’ celebrates the idea of finding your way back to the confidence, curiosity and fearlessness that we lose as we get older. It reflects on childhood, when failure, judgement and what other people might think weren’t factors, and life was experienced with a greater sense of freedom.
Talking about the track, Sydnie said “When we’re young, we don’t think about failure, judgement or what people might think of us. We run, we climb, we fall, we laugh, we love and we experience life with a freedom that feels so natural. Innocence is our superpower. Writing this song was about reconnecting with that little girl inside me – the one who wasn’t afraid to dream, who reached for the sky without worrying about how high she had to climb. In my spirit is a reminder that the little girl I was, is still with me. She is the reason I keep chasing, keep fighting and keep believing, even when things feel difficult. This song is about holding onto that spark. I hope it takes you back to a time when the world felt endless, when anything was possible and when you truly felt free.”
‘Spirit’ follows Sydnie’s singles ‘Run’ and ‘Lean On You’, and continues a new chapter as she steps further into her own voice as a songwriter. The Artist will be released on 2nd October and was co-written by Sydnie with producer Ash Howes (Ellie Goulding, One Direction, Little Mix and Kylie Minogue) on all but one track. The album is her most personal and authentic work to date, a musical diary reflecting on her life and career across the music and theatre industries.
Adding a special personal touch to the music video for Spirit, Sydnie’s eight-year-old niece Bonnie takes on the role of a young Sydnie, bringing the story to life with a heartfelt family connection. The remarkable similarity between them both as children meant that it was a no brainer for her to play little Sydnie.
It’s been a busy 2026 so far for Sydnie, who recently completed her solo U.S tour, with shows in New York and Philadelphia, and also performed at The David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada, alongside artists such as CeeLo Green, Loren Allred and Josh Groban.
